I originally replied to Andreas on Mastodon and boosted the post but it's worth also sharing here. Andreas writes about the importance of who gets your business. It's difficult in the world of big tech to make such decisions but it's something I try my best to practice.

In related news, I'm experimenting with Immich to break free from Google Photos. Once I'm confident in the service, and my ability to host it, I plan to open it up to some close family members.
