Meeste treinproblemen voorbij na sabotageacties

Now that the dust has settled, figuratively and literally, on 2026-09-18, Prinsjesdag (Budget Day), there were multiple acts of sabotage on the railway. I was following along through NOS' live blog. In a large part of the country train services were distrupted as metal pipes and other material, including a jumper cable were placed on the track in protest. This causes the section of rail to be marked as occupied preventing train traffic for safely crossing.

Protests along took the highways by burning hay and other material.

ProRail and NS had their own live updates throughout the day.

This wasn't the first act of rail sabotage, there was a fire lit near Schiphol Airport that dirupted rail service during the NATO summit last year.
