Stroomstoring bij Rotterdam Stadion duurt tenminste tot aankomende donderdag

It's not looking great for the rail timetable in the Netherlands. Just as the heatwave ended, a thunderstorm storm slows down repairs and this morning a cable duct was on fire by Station Rotterdam Stadion. This brought five trains to a standstill and will continue to disrupt trains between Rotterdam and the south of the country including the high speed line and Kijfhoek freight yard.

The disruption is expected to last until at least Thursday as about 100 of the 299 cables in the duct were damaged and need to be repaired. The cables affect the signals and switches along the track but not the overhead line. The cause of the fire is still not known.
