Modernisering van RRReis-treinstellen op Valleilijn loopt vertraging op

Five Protos and two Stadler FLIRT trains running on the Valleilijn are scheduled for modernisation by Keolis (RRReis), one at a time. An old Mat '64 was put in service to fill in the gap, which was taken out of service around 2015.

The Mat '64 is owned and operated by the 2454 CREW foundation. It was even kitted out with the blue livery for the run, which began in May 2025.

The Protos trains are proving to be harder to modernise as they lack manuals, given that their manufacturer, FTD, went bankrupt. Only five Protos trains were ever in service, and they are used on the Valleilijn. According to Treinenweb, the first Protos train should be modernised by June 2026.
